VENTURES AFRICA – Arms imports by African countries have increased by 45 percent between 2005 and 2014 says a report released by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Algeria, Morocco and Sudan were the largest importers of arms on the African continent between 2010 and 2014 with 30 percent, 26 percent, and 6 percent of the total arms imports respectively. Africa accounted for 9 percent of total global arms imports between 2010 and 2014 as compared to 7 percent between 2005 and 2009. Continue reading–>
